Periodic Opportunities
Throughout the year, we need volunteers to assist with one-time and ongoing events. Volunteering, whenever you can, is a great way to get to know teachers, staff, other parents, and community members who, like you, care about our children.

Board Positions
If you have more time, we hope you’ll considering joining the PTA Board. Wherever you have an interest or expertise, PTA is happy to have your help! We are currently recruiting officers for the 2021-2022 school year.

President
- Oversees and coordinates the work of the executive board to run the PTA effectively
- Presides at PTA board and association meetings
- Serves as the official contact, communicator and representative of PTA
- Designated as an authorized signer for PTA checks, contracts and authorizations for payment
- Serves as ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee
- Works with other PTA leaders to connect families, school and community to support student success

Executive Vice President
- Works as the primary aide to the president
- Helps lead PTA towards specific goals consistent with PTA purposes and policies
- Performs president’s duties in his or her absence
- Carries out other duties outlined in PTA bylaws and standing rules or as assigned

Secretary
- Takes minutes at board and association meetings
- Co-signs formal papers with president: authorizations for payment, resolutions and formal letters
- Handles PTA correspondence as directed by the president
- Maintains and preserves PTA records and important documents to pass on at the end of the term

Treasurer
- Maintains permanent records to track PTA funds and financial transactions
- Chairs budget committee and prepares annual budget for adoption by the association
- Pays all PTA bills as authorized by board or association
- Prepares reports for every board and association meeting and an annual financial report
- Ensures taxes and reports required by PTA bylaws, insurance or federal and state governments are completed and submitted by the due dates

Development Chair
- Works with a committee to plan and organize fundraising activities
- Focuses on raising the amount of funds needed to meet the PTA’s annual budget
- Presents for approval proposed fundraising activities and gives regular reports on completed and ongoing fundraising activities at all PTA meetings

Membership Chair
- Gives regular membership reports at all PTA meetings
- Maintains a list of members, updating as new members are enrolled. Provides copies to the president and secretary
- Coordinates membership drives and promotes current member benefits to give added value to PTA membership

Communications Chair
- Gives regular communications reports at all PTA meetings
- Uses available means to promote PTA events and share information
- Maintains an up-to-date website
- Uses social media to communicate with members
- Encourages officers and chairs to contribute short articles and reports for email communications, website, or social media sites

Parliamentarian
- Assists the president to manage meetings and advises on parliamentary procedure
- Chairs Bylaws committee to review unit Bylaws each year and revise Bylaws every three years
- Arranges nominating committee’s first meeting, providing information on nomination and election process
